RHS Class of 1965 Reunion Cancelled

May 6, 2020

As a result of impacts and issues with the coronavirus, the RHS Class of ’65 Reunion committee has decided to cancel the reunion planned for this summer (July 17th).  I know many of you, including myself, were really looking forward to seeing everyone this summer; however, we decided to be as safe as possible with the decision to cancel.  The announcement is being made now rather than later so those of you that have made travel plans might be able to change them.

Hope all of you stay safe and healthy through all these crazy times.

Attention RHS Class of 1965 Members, Associates, and Friends

February 3, 2020

The 55th Class Reunion for the RHS Class of 1965 will be held at Swede Hall on July 17, 2020.
  Similar to several of our other reunions, we will have a potluck starting in late afternoon with the hall open until later in the evening so we have plenty of time to eat and talk.  Swede Hall does have cooking and refrigeration if someone needs either of those for the food they’re providing.  Eating utensils, bottled water, and various kinds of soda will be provided.  The Hall will be open at 3 pm with food being available around 4 o’clock.  If you’d like to make a donation to help cover reunion costs, that would be great, the main thing is to encourage as many people as possible to attend.

July 17 is a Friday, the following day, Saturday July 18, the all school reunion will be held at Rochester Middle School for those would like to attend.  Its a great opportunity to see members of other classes.

Include these dates in your summer plans and please spread the word!  We hope lots of you will attend; its always fun to reminisce and find out what everyone has been up to for the past 55 years.

Also, I’d like to suggest everyone check out the RHS Class of 65 website created and maintained by Ron Fowler.  It contains copies of all the reunion announcements and other relevant information.  It also includes some great pictures from all of our previous reunions as well as pictures from grade school to high school.  Here's a link so you can easily check it out, just click the link:

ROCHESTER HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1965

Welcome fellow RHS Class of 1965 Warriors and Warriorettes!  The accompanying pages are an outgrowth of preparing and publishing our 50th class reunion souvenir booklet.  In order to have the booklets available for distribution at our July 17, 2015 reunion gathering, we decided not to include photographs.  Many of us are curious, of course, to see how gracefully our classmates are aging, so we opted to post reunion photos on this web site, allowing class members to view and print any images they may choose to keep.

---> WE NEED YOUR HELP! <---

Please EMail your reunion photos to SodaBottles@yahoo.com for posting on this site.  We are also seeking images that fit the other sub-categories.  Wherever possible, please provide additional information, including the names of all pictured individuals.  Thank you!

PRINTING SUGGESTIONS

The accompanying photos may appear small and/or fuzzy on your monitor, making it challenging to recognize specific individuals, particularly for those of us with aging eyes.  Not to worry!  All of these images were scanned at high resolution and intentionally not compressed.  Although that means they may take slightly longer to download, the benefits far outweigh a few seconds of downloading time, particularly when it comes to printing.  Here are two suggestions for viewing and/or printing the posted images:

VIEWING:

Rest your cursor on top of an image and a pop-up message will remind you to "Click to open a separate window displaying a larger image!"

PRINTING:

Choose a desired photo;

Right click the photo and a dialog box will open;

Click "Save picture as..." to name and save the photo in a file of your choosing on your computer;

The saved photo can be viewed at a larger size, sent as an EMail attachment, cropped to focus on specific individuals (see example below), printed, etc.

To print the photo, open a word processing program (such as Microsoft Word) and create a new (blank) document;

Select the page orientation (portrait or landscape) matching the shape of the photo you are printing;

Insert the photo into the document, size it as desired, and print.

This image of Danny Weber, Mervin Winkle, and Joey Morrow was cropped from the Littlerock Grade School third grade class photo.  Nice cuffs on those jeans, Merv, but how come you weren't wearing a cool cowboy shirt like Danny and Joey?  Noting the wear on the knees of their jeans, these three desperados likely knuckled down for more than a few games of marbles at recess...
